Future "Live School" Candidates!

During my June 2016 Training trip to Zambia, one of our 2011 Live School graduates, Aongola, came by to meet with me. Aongola is the man who received a two-year scholarship from the Booth Center at Justo Mwale Theological Seminary in Lusaka.  Bill Warlick with The Outreach Foundation was kind enough to secure that scholarship several years ago for Aongola. The courses focused on 1.) missional training in evangelism as a holistic and sustainable ministry and 2.) agriculture and animal husbandry training as a sustainable skill development allowing church leaders to provide for their families and communities. Church leaders and pastors don’t receive salaries in rural areas. This focus matches the model for the Inyambo Mission Center and we were privileged to have Aongola attend, graduate and return to the Mwandi area with his practical training so he can pass it on to rural communities in the district and become part of the Inyambo Mission Center team. Aongola now desires to return to Justo Mwale and get a Bachelor of Theology degree.

I must say that I am proud of his commitment and pleasantly blown away by what Aongola told me about carrying out his new-found calling of planting churches and ministering to bush communities that hunger and thirst for something or someone to change their lives. Until they are given an opportunity to hear the Word of God, they search aimless for meaning and direction. Now Aongola has, and continues to share the Gospel in seven Western and Southern Province targeted villages so that the people can discover that Jesus Christ is the only one who can fix mankind’s spiritual and physical brokenness. He intends to plant churches, train church leaders to lead those churches and develop the sustainable agriculture/animal husbandry skills that will provide an income.

The Booth Center training requires graduates to do exactly what Aongola is doing. In addition, he is held accountable by instructors who will come to visit the targeted villages between July and September to follow up and mentor him! Wow, it is awfully exciting to see the level of maturity that has taken place in Aongola’s life resulting in a man of action for God, not out of compulsion due to the requirements, but out of love for his Savior with a deep desire to glorify and please God while spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ to a lost and searching people.
